Healthy Tots sessions

The Leek & Moorlands Community Toy Library is delighted to announce a new programme of Healthy Tot sessions that are open to all over the coming weeks. The Toy Library is working towards receiving a Healthy Tots status from the Pre-School Learning Alliance and would be delighted to welcome members old and new to come and take part, free of charge.

25^th June 2008 : Session 1 – Healthy Eating

Information about promoting healthy eating, a chance to try a fruit smoothie and a variety of tasty healthy snacks and an information pack to take home.

2^nd July 2008: Session 2 – Safe and Sound

Information about how to provide a healthy and safe environment and how to encourage good practice regarding oral health. An art and craft activity in making your own tooth, toothpaste and sugar game and an information pack to take home.

10th September : Session 3 – Playing together, talking together

Tips for encouraging children’s speech and language development, books, treasure baskets etc. An art and craft activity in making a book of family members, pets etc and an information pack to take home.

17th Sept : Session 4 – Let’s get physical

Practical information about providing opportunities for physical development within toddler groups & at home. Musical shakers are made ready to use for singing and an information pack to take home

24th Sept : Session 5 – Recap and Award Ceremony. A chance to pick up any literature missed from other sessions and to fill in any missed evaluation forms and to present the groups certificate and portfolio.

All the sessions will be ran alongside the usual Toy Library hire and play session.
